The Watchmen (2009) Warner Bros: Directed by Zack SnyderI went in with excitement and an open mind. I came out three hours of my life shorter, $30 plus parking fees worth of annoyance, and a disbelieving scowl richer. more »

Fly me to the ...other side of the mountains: Lunar Legend Review

Categories: REVIEWS, video games, GBA/DS Permalink
After playing Legend of Dragoon, I felt disinclined to play any other RPGs anytime soon. It's just so damn good and I can't help plugging it right now. However, I found myself bored riding the abomination that is public transportation. What could I do to pass the time and distract myself from the foul stench of urine and stale cologne and perfume and drown out the din of the person sitting right behind me screaming into their cell phone? Surely not a book as they are a pain in the ass to carry around with all of my unnecessarily heavy crap in my backpack. Not a magazine because I don't want to inspire any conversation or have person next to me who smells like macaroni for some reason reading it over my shoulder. A solution presented itself in the form of my Gameboy Advance. Since I didn't feel like returning to the Final Fantasy series, I figured I would see what I had lying around. I found Lunar Legend(2001) and figured I'd finally give it a whirl. ... more »

The Legend of Dragoon - (Dragons, Inclusiveness, and Empowerment, oh my!)

Categories: REVIEWS, video games, PSOne Permalink
The first time I played this game (many many years ago), I thought it was amazing. It had been awhile so I wasn't sure if my memory about the aspects of the game were correct. So I decided grudgingly to replay it... curious and afraid of what I would fin… more »

The faces of gaming: If a picture's worth a thousand words, then these are worth 10,000

Categories: ARTICLES, SHOTS/BLURBS Permalink
There are some things which stand as pillars to why I do this. One of these pillars is presented in the GameInformer magazine as plain as can be. The following pictures, to me, seem so obvious when presented in the right context that I feel a little sill… more »

After recently starting Final Fantasy XIII, I decided it was time to revisit Final Fantasy X-2. Having only watched another play this game, I have long since decided never to endure a play-through on my own. With its Hannah Montana-esque plot, ridiculous costume change system and in-battle singing, watching FFX-2 effectively drained me of all wonder or concern over X's main protagonist, Tidus.

  • Stockholm: An Exploration of True Love - A Sociopath's Dream
Stockholm is an interactive DVD in which you play a sadistic and creepy (even though it's first person) kidnapper. The point, as the name may suggest, is to get your captor to fall in love with you. This goal is to be accomplished through fear using torture, rape, forced nudity, suffocation, gassing, etc. Charming.
